Beschrijving

CompactDry PA - Pseudomonas aeruginosa

CompactDry PA is a ready-to-use, chromogenic, selective culture plate specifically targeted at Pseudomonas aeruginosa detection. It is identified by a red colour colony, surrounded by a greenish-yellow halo as a result of the tetrazolium salt redox indicator contained in the Pseudomonas selective culture media.

Pseudomonas aeruginosa is a psychrotrophic bacterium and can proliferate at low temperatures, causing spoilage of refrigerated food products such as meat, poultry, fish, milk, and dairy products.

It is ubiquitous and thrives in soil, fresh water, and marine environments. Aside from food products, it is also known to contaminate clinical environments and cosmetics/pharmaceutical products.

Pseudomonas aeruginosa is pathogenic and is a common target for the food and pharmaceutical industries.

Incubation
Time: 48+/- 3 hours
Temperature: 36+/- 1°C

Interpretation
P. Aeruginosa forms: Red colonies + Greenish-yellow halo
Membrane filter method: Light Green/ Green Blue colonies

Advantages
